It doesn’t really matter what you’re doing—hiking, biking, cooking dinner or hanging out. You need music. We designed a speaker that keeps pace with all of your adventures and delivers unmatched sound for its size. The SoundLink Micro speaker is small, but powerful. Super rugged and waterproof. It features a tear-resistant silicone strap—so you can take it along wherever you go. Because, when a speaker this small sounds this good, you’ll never want to leave it behind.

Measuring 3.9 by 3.9 by 1.4 inches (HWD) and weighing in at about 10.2 ounces, the SoundLink Micro is pretty tiny. The speaker is available in black, blue, or orange, and its rounded contour is covered in matte, water-resistant silicone rubber. Its IPX7 rating means it can be immersed in water up to one meter deep for up to 30 minutes, making it a solid poolside companion and a good choice for the outdoors in the general.

The speaker is designed to sit flat, projecting sound upward through its perforated grille. Behind the grille, there's a single mono transducer next to a passive radiator, with another passive radiator firing out the opposite panel. Bose was wise to opt for more bass response rather than adding in a second driver for left/right channels—you're not going to get stereo separation with a speaker this small.

The front panel holds three buttons, located above the perforated grill. The volume up/down buttons work in conjunction with your phone's master volume levels, while a central multifunction button controls playback, call management, and track navigation, depending on how many times you tap it. The panel also houses the microphone for the speakerphone function, which offers better-than-average intelligibility. Using an iPhone 6s, transmissions were easy to understand, without any real hints of distortion or fuzziness.

The top of the speaker holds a power button and a Bluetooth pairing button, separated by a rubber, flexible band. The band snaps open and closed at the bottom, so you can fasten the speaker to a variety of objects. The top of the band is melded to the body of the speaker and houses an LED readout that displays battery life. There's no aux input, which is a slight bummer.

Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker Black

No matter the activity you're doing - it will always be better with music. We at Bose have created this speaker so that can keep up with your lifestyle. Hiking, Cleaning or Hanging out? Whatever you do, bring the micro speaker with you. Yes, this is small but don't excpect small sound as this provides you with unchallenged sound for its size. It is tough, waterproof and also features a tear-resistant silicone strap so there is no excuse to leave it behind. But when the speaker is this good, why would you want to?

We put more in. You get more out.
We wanted to provide you with the best possible sound quality for this speakers' size, to do this we planned out every detail which includes the custom-designed transducer all the way to the silicone passive radiators. You cannot make a speaker perform like this one if you don't put time and effort into it.
    All the places you’ll go
With its tear-resistant silicone strap, simply strap it to... well anything, and have the reassurance that it won't fall off no matter how many times you've used it. Going biking? Strap it to your handlebar. Climbing? Backpack strap. Strap it to anything and you're good to go.
Stands up to Water from the Inside Out
With the SoundLink speakers, the fear of dropping it in water goes away. We have designed these speakers to perform the first time you get it wet, and every other time after that. Using the IPX7 rating as a starting point, we propelled ourselves further into waterproof technology. It can fall into the bath, the pool, or the ocean. Pick it up and hit play.
    Materials matter
We're only human, and accidents do happen, but you shouldn't be punished for when they do. That's why we thought the outside of the SoundLink Micro should be made out of silicone rubber. This high quality material lets us get rid of as many seams and gaps as possible, not only that but it can stand up to dents, scratches and cracks.

    Bose Connect app
When you download the Bose Connect app, you can control your SoundLink Micro speaker's Bluetooth connections. If you have that friend who obsesses over controlling the music, simply switch devices though the app and let them go wild. In addition to this, you can use the app to connect another SoundLink Micro speaker in Party Mode, to make the music even louder! If that doesn't suit your fancy, you can try out Stereo Mode where instruments and vocals naturally separate, breathing new life into your favourite tunes.
Our speaker gives you music that is deep, rich and full of life. You can play music on the SoundLink for up to 6 hours, while still getting a booming bass.
    SIRI & Google Voice Commands
Don't worry if you don't have your phone to hand. Simply hold down the multi-function button to get access to the voice input for your phone's Siri or you Google Assistant right from the speaker.
No one likes speaker phone. They can't hear you, you can't hear them and it's just annoying. However, now when using the SoundLink Micro, you can receive calls right through the speaker, so you can actually hear what they're saying without it being muffled or distorted.
    Voice Prompts
Voice prompts uses Bluetooth pairing to talk to you. You can connect two devices if you want, and the speaker also remembers the eight most recent connected devices.
The SoundLink Micro has been built to withstand water, from the inside out. By using silicone as the exterior material to create a seal around the technology inside, water cannot damage these speakers in any way.

What are the audio connection options for the SoundLink Micro speaker?

The audio connection option for the SoundLink Micro is through industry-standard Bluetooth A2DP.

Does the SoundLink Micro speaker support Wi-Fi® or WiDi®?

No. The speaker’s wireless connection is Bluetooth only.

What is the wireless range of the SoundLink Micro speaker’s Bluetooth performance?

The speaker has a wireless range up to 9 m (30 ft). Performance can be affected by obstacles such as walls, interference from Wi-Fi or other wireless devices.

Can I wirelessly link multiple SoundLink Micro speakers together to achieve Party Mode and Stereo Mode?

Yes, you can. This feature requires any two Bose Bluetooth speakers (may be a combination) from the following list: SoundLink Micro, SoundLink Color II, SoundLink Revolve and SoundLink Revolve+. The primary method to enable Party Mode—and Stereo Mode, too—is through the Bose Connect app. Follow instructions found in the app.

The SoundLink Micro speaker is waterproof and IPX7-rated. What does that mean for how I can use it?

For SoundLink Micro, we’ve stretched beyond the required testing parameters—in this case an IPX7-rated product—to ensure that your speaker will long outlast an accidental drop into water. The SoundLink Micro can be immersed in water up to 1 m (3.3 ft) deep, for up to 30 minutes. This means that you can use SoundLink Micro in more places and not worry if it gets wet.

Will the SoundLink Micro speaker sink when submerged?

Yes, the SoundLink Micro will sink; it does not float.

How many devices can pair with the SoundLink Micro speaker at once?

The SoundLink Micro keeps track of the last eight devices to have paired and connected with it, dropping the least recently used when a new one is paired.

Does the SoundLink Micro speaker feature a speakerphone?

Yes. The SoundLink Micro can be used for both out loud listening and hands-free communication.

What happens when my phone is streaming music to the SoundLink Micro speaker and a call comes in?

When a call comes in, the audio on the SoundLink Micro will pause and the call will ring through the speaker. If you wish to answer the call through the SoundLink Micro, simply press the multi-function button to answer the call. You can now talk into the speaker itself to conduct your phone call. Once you end your call, music playback will resume. Some details of this experience will vary depending on the implementation by the phone manufacturer.

What is the battery performance of the SoundLink Micro speaker?

With typical usage, the SoundLink Micro battery lasts up to 6 hours. Battery performance varies with the content played and volume at which it’s played.

How long does it take to charge the SoundLink Micro speaker’s battery?

While not playing music, much of the SoundLink Micro’s battery charge can be recovered in approximately 4 hours when using a USB power source of 1 amp of current. With a 1.5 amp power source, charging time may be closer to 3 hours. Charging from alternate USB power sources, or when playing music, may take longer.

What purpose do the voice prompts on the SoundLink Micro speaker serve?

The voice prompts serve two key purposes. First, they provide guidance during the Bluetooth pairing and connection process. Second, they identify the connected source devices by text to speech, simplifying usage with more than one source device.

Is it possible to disable voice prompts on the SoundLink Micro speaker?

Yes. Voice prompts can be disabled either in the Bose Connect app, or by simultaneously pressing the “+” (volume up) and “-” (volume down) buttons. We recommend leaving voice prompts enabled because of the additional functionality they provide.

Can the SoundLink Micro speaker be used to provide audio for video, such as watching a film on a tablet?

Yes. However, the quality of the experience—specifically, synchronisation between audio and video—may be compromised due to various signal processing technologies implemented in the speakers.

Is the SoundLink Micro speaker compatible with the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot?

Yes. Any Bose Bluetooth speaker works with the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot for hands-free voice control to play music, provide information, news, sports scores, weather and more—instantly.
