The Fisher & Paykel WM1490P1 is an intelligent washing machine with a variety of features. The machine will take care of any fabric and offers a cycle for everything. This appliance will ensure that your clothes are protected against the most stubborn stains. 

The 14 wash cycles enable you to select the best cycle for your clothes, with options such as Handwash, Bulky, Allergy and a 15 minute Super Quick cycle for when you don’t have much time. You can select a cycle with the SmartTouch™ control dial. 

This appliance features a Vortex Wash which speeds up the cleaning process to enable most of the cycles to take less than an hour to complete. Water is forced from the bottom of the drum up through your clothes during the tumble action, to make the detergent and heat reach your fabric quicker. 

With the Add a Garment function, you can simply press a button mid cycle and open the appliance door to add or remove items, and then continue with the washing process. This is an excellent feature that can be very helpful. 

The SmartDrive™ technology is an exciting innovation from Fisher & Paykel as it is a  world-first system that uses a motor to consistently supply feedback to a computer. This computer controls the tumble and spin action, meaning you are provided with a quick, quiet and more reliable wash. 

This washing machine uses a direct drive motor to remove the need for belts, pulleys and the traditional block which is designed to hold down the machine. Due to the fact these heavy components have been taken out, the appliance becomes much quieter as there are less vibrations. 

With the liquid dispenser, detergent is shared at the right time in the cycle to increase the wash performance. This is a great feature in this appliance. 

The 1400 RPM spin speed in the washing machine means that more water is taken from your wash to result in a shorter dry cycle. 

The front loaders of the appliance can be installed with both cold and hot water inlets. This is to enable better energy efficiency and quicker wash cycles. Cold water can be heated within the washer, and hot water can be drawn directly from the plumbing.
